HandZaround, meaning
‘Hanna and Zach around [the world]',
was born of the love for travel;
the desire to be inspired by people’s stories;
the need to capture the fleeting moments of life
- big or small.
We're a husband & wife, and a filmmaker & photographer duo based in
St Leonards on the Bellarine Peninsula in Wadawurrung Country.
We specialise in lifestyle family photography, natural newborn photography,
commercial photography and videography, and intimate elopements
across Geelong and the Bellarine.
Read on to learn how it's all started.
2014
Hanna and Zach meet on a random Thursday night out whilst living in London. Zach working as a primary school teacher and Hanna finishing her BA Fashion Photography degree at University of the Arts London & working as a babysitter.
Zach took this selfie on the night we met for the first time - we had no idea whether we would meet again!
2015
They elope in Ealing Town Hall and start planning their round-the-world trip.
2016 - 2018
Hanna and Zach spend two years on the road. Their travels take them through Asia, Africa, US, Europe and Australia & New Zealand.
During this trip HandZaround blog is born - an outlet for travel stories & travel tips, videos & photography.
On the way, to extend their trip, Hanna and Zach collaborate with travel companies, tourism boards, hotels & AirBnBs to be able to travel for longer.
2019
Zach and Hanna make Geelong their home and develop HandZaround into a Video & Photography business.
Their work focuses on photographing families, as well as filming & photographing weddings, elopements, businesses and creating commercial content.
2024
This year brings a lot of changes:
Zach and Hanna welcome Runo - their first baby!
Whilst Hanna takes time to heal after birth and be with Runo, Zach (after five years of full time work as a videographer and shooting over 100 weddings together with Hanna!), goes back to full time work as a primary school teacher - his true passion.

2025
Hanna starts running HandZaround Video & Photography on her own with the focus on Newborn, Family & Commercial photography and videography.
Zach is available for occasional videography and aerial photography & videography on the weekends & during school holidays.

here is a little bit about me...
Lifestyle photographer
& filmmaker.
I love traveling, children, dogs, arts & design, coffee, all things nature and adventure, as well as living on the beautiful Bellarine.
I feel things deeply, like anything that’s thought-provoking and genuine. I'm easy-going and like transparency.
I love Zach & Runo, as well as being a mum and making our home a meaningful place that reflects our values.
HandZaround is not only my business, but also something that I choose to spend my time on, not because I have to, but because I want to.
My favourite part of being a photographer & filmmaker is capturing timeless images for families - especially now that my own little daughter is growing with the speed of light.
Photographing kids is something I'm really passionate about - I see them as capable, creative, clever and independent little people with their own personalities & temperaments, and I like spending time with them.
I also love telling stories of how other businesses came to be - capturing their essence and soul makes my work meaningful to me.
